Sid: We’re at this point in history where there is a war going on from the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of God and I believe that Proverbs 13:22 is ready to take place. That says the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. There is going to be a great wealth transfer, but how in the world can you ever hit your destiny if you are in a mountain of debt such as my guest Gary Keesee was in. For instance, he had personal debt of over $100,000, I’m not talking about mortgages or car payments; he was a Christian, he was confessing the word, “My God shall supply all of my needs.” But he was on antidepressants, he was coming apart in the seams as so many people unfortunately are that are listening to my voice right now. And he just cried out to God one day, he just totally collapsed in his bed and he was in such desperation. I’m going to take you back Gary to that point, that absolute desperation that you were in. Now you lived in desperation and you’ve lived in God’s blessings, you don’t have to be a mental giant to know which is better. Take me back to the time you collapsed in your bed.
Gary: Well Sid, we were in church, we were Christians like so many believers, we were living believing God was going to do something down the road, but we were in debt. And again in my studies I found that Christians live just like everyone else that’s why we have the same numbers of divorces, the same number of people that have money problems. But we were in commission sales and found ourselves in desperate debt living hand to mouth basically. We were living in a little 1800 farm house, broken cars, broken window panes in our house, just surviving going to pone shops trying to just scrape by every single day. It was a very emotional time. I wish I could say that it was one year, but we lived that way for eight years and essentially rang up ten maxed out credit cards, three finance company loans at the time, IRS leans, judgments, we had car payments, mortgages, everything was late; we lived that way. Everything was 120 days late, but we finally exhausted every debt option we had. We had no money; the refrigerator was empty, people calling us every day, commission sales. I was on anti- depressants; I was having panic attacks; I didn’t know if I would live or die, I mean it was not a good situation. And an attorney called one day and said that we’re filing a law suit against you, of course he was one of many, but this particular day it caught me that Gary, you’re done. I mean you have these five wonderful kids, you have a wonderful wife, but it’s over. Your failing, there’s nothing left, there’s no option for you so I went upstairs and I began to pray with this sincere prayer of “God what can I do? And He quoted to me Philippians 4:19 which says my God shall supply all your need. Through what we have or possess through Christ Jesus.
Sid: But, wait a second you were a Christian; you knew that scripture; you had it preached to you.
Gary: Yes, I could even quote it, but I never heard it, do you know what I’m saying? I mean you can quote scripture but unless it’s revelation to you and until you understand it. You see Jesus said in Matthew 6 that where your treasure is there your hearts going to be. He didn’t say where your heart is you treasure is. We have a lot of people who love God, but He said where your treasure is your heart is. In other words, the system, the kingdom that you go to when you have to pay the bills is where your hearts going to be at. What he told me that day what he spoke to me was that my treasure was in the earth curse system of operation. I trusted in debt, I had no concept of how His kingdom operated in reality, how He provided, how to access that inheritance that he mentioned in Philippians 4:19, you know “God will meet all my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus, that’s His inheritance. Not my Daddy’s last name, not what I possess, but what I’ve come to. We have been redeemed into a kingdom, and in that kingdom, Galatians 4th chapter says we are heirs and because we’re a son we have and inheritance of the whole estate. But I had no clue how to bring that estate that we possess in spiritual law in the kingdom of God how to bring that into the earth realm. So I was living just like anyone else…
Sid: You know I’m reminded that it’s not just finances; it’s every promise of God that is the question that a lot of people are asking, a lot of believer’s are asking. I believe the word is true, but how do I get it from the invisible into the visible.
Gary: Well, we could spend a long time talking about that, but let me make reference to one chapter in the Bible that anyone listening today needs to understand. Now Mark chapter four there are three parables that talk about the kingdom of God and it’s interface in the earth realm. Now the kingdom is, well Luke chapter verse 20 says that blessed are the poor for theirs is the kingdom of God. So we’ve come into a kingdom, but we have to ask where that kingdom is at and in Luke chapter 17 verse 20 it says the kingdom does not come by observation for it is in us. So the kingdom is in us and because of that the answers we need to walk our life out will come from that kingdom; 2nd Peter 1:3 says He has given us all things that pertain to life. But as you said most people don’t know how to release that kingdom in the earth realm, they don’t know how to tap into it. And those three parables in chapter 4 of Mark teach us that in fact Jesus said concerning one of those parables which is the parable of the sower is that if someone doesn’t understand that parable how are they going to understand any parable? Because those three parables unlock the understanding of how the kingdom of God functions in the earth realm and how it does what it does.
Sid: Now, let me take you back, alright you collapse your depressed, you’re on antidepressants, you don’t know what to do to, where to go; you hear a word from God, what do you do with it?
Gary: Well, at the time I didn’t have all the revelation that I’ve learned over these twenty some years since I had that day happen to me.
Sid: Well, give me a bottom line right now.
Gary: Yeah.
Sid: Your life was transformed, your family was transformed; tell me where you where say three years later after being in such a mess financially.
Gary: Three years later we were completely out of debt. We had paid off all of the debt that we mentioned earlier, we had paid cash for our house, started paying cash for our cars. I had started three businesses, our life completely changed. I mean I had to pinch myself for the first few years after that.
Sid: You cannot do that with the world system.
Gary: That’s right Sid. The world system is tied to how fast you can run that comes out of Genesis chapter 3 when Adam lost the provision, lost the kingdom, he became a survivalist and it says there that now anything he received out of the earth realm would be based on how fast he could run, through painful toil and sweat. Jesus made that same reference in Matthew Chapter 6 “The unbeliever runs after the things of life.” If I told someone listening today to get out of debt their going to, because we have been trained in this system. They are going to grit their teeth, they are going to think how many jobs they can work, they can sweat more, they can run faster and get the job done. But we can’t run fast enough. You know people can’t in themselves win this race. The system is designed that we fail, it is just difficult to break out of it, but we come into a new kingdom and when we come into that new kingdom, there’s different laws that supersedes the earth curse system kind of like a plane does when it flies. It doesn’t cancel gravity, but it begins to operate on laws that supersede gravity and we can get where were we are going faster because we’re operating with new laws and that’s basically how the kingdom of God looks. We began to walk by the Spirit and the laws of the kingdom and we can go at multiplied speed and things happen much faster.
Sid: Well, you know what I believe as I read the principles that you teach and that are just transforming, how many people would you say that you have taught this to over those last twenty years or so?
Gary: Hundreds of thousands, I don’t have an exact number, but we’ve helped hundreds of thousands over those years.
Sid: And you approach it very different, in fact someone I know who’s produced a lot of top Christian films, Phil Cooke this is what he says about your book that I’m reading from right now. “Most financial resources are tedious, hard to understand and frankly boring, at least that’s what I thought until I found, “Fixing the money thing” by Gary Keesee. Gary: Yes.
Sid: How has your money thing turned around, Gary?
Gary: In a brief synopsis, of course, we said we started three companies. You know God doesn’t have any money. You look at a piece of money and it has an earth kingdom stamped on it, but He does give us ideas give us ideas on direction on how to capture money and that’s what happened to me. He gave me a dream in the night to start businesses, which I did and then of course, we got out of debt. We began to pay cash for everything, and then of course, we still have these businesses twenty some years later that are still producing millions of dollars a year in gross revenue which has literally changed my life, my ability to do things in the kingdom and help many people.
Sid: Well, the thing that impresses me is that it’s not just people that are ready to go bankrupt it’s people that are being kind of normal, but in the world system and don’t even realize that they need to read this book fixing the money thing, stop surviving, start thriving.
