Sid: I have on the telephone Gary Oates speaking to him in his home in Dallas, Georgia. I just got a hold of his new book called “Open My Eyes Lord.” It is a practical guide for you to have intimacy with God; for your eyes to be opened to see into the spirit world. And you say “Well, what good is that?” Well, you can just see what God is doing on earth as He’s doing in Heaven and just speak it out. Gary, give me an example of how this operates.
Gary: Well, not too long ago we’re in Guyana, Africa ministering and I saw a group of angels come over and swoop down on top of the bus that the team came in; the bus was it was an outdoor meeting and bus was parked beside the platform. On top of the bus it was covered with angels; and they were healing angels. I called the team members over beside the bus and I called out those that were blind or deaf; those that needed a major miracle of healing to come over and the team would be there with them. As they came over the angels started dropping down off of the top of the bus touching the people bringing healing. And the team right then saw 35 blind, or nearly blind, people their eyes were opened; 22 deaf ears were opened, and that night we saw over 99% of the people that were present were totally healed as God released His healing angels in that place.
Sid: What do you see happening in the near future especially for those that follow your practical steps for intimacy with God and having their eyes opened to the spirit realm. What do you see happening say here in America in the near future?
Gary: Well, I believe that it is critical that we as the believers begin to see in the realm of the spirit. The realm of the spirit is more real than the natural physical world that we live in and God wants to open us up to where we can cooperate with what He’s doing. There’s so many practical aspects to this; I used to think as a Pastor that you know Jesus said “I only do what I see My Father do.” And I thought “How can we do that?;” I was just kinda guessing and trying to figure out what God was doing but now as He’s opened my eyes to see in the realm of the spirit I don’t have to guess at it anymore I can see what He is doing. And that releases such a powerful anointing; the presence of God is so much stronger in the place to be able what He’s doing. To call it out and to see the mighty miracles that take place as a result of it; but it happens in just a practical everyday experience.
Sid: Does this happen; I know it will happen in a congregation but does this happen when you’re on an airplane; when you’re going to the grocery store with you or your wife?
Gary: Yes, I’ve seen… God’s opened my eyes to see angels in some of the strangest time when ministering to people. In fact also you know with that comes the thing of demons as well; and sometimes we’ll see a person who may have a demon attached to him and God will give us that prayer to pray that will release him of the bondage of the enemy.
Sid: Now when you pray for that demon to leave do you literally see it leave?
Gary: Yes, yes.
Sid: I mean so there’s no guess work on your part.
Gary: There’s no guess work.
Sid: I like it; that’s see I’m a very pragmatic person; that’s the way it’s supposed to be. But I have to be candid with you; I am not where you’re at; I want to be where you’re at. Could you pray for me; and could you pray for everyone else that’s as hungry as I am right now?
Gary: Absolutely.
Sid: Pray an impartation prayer for that same anointing that rests on you; that same intimacy with God that rests on you. I want to be able to see in the invisible realm.
Gary: I want to tell you we’ve prayed this prayer with thousands of people all over the world and literally we’ve had thousands of people reporting back that their eyes have been opened. That they’re beginning to see in the spirit; they are having the dreams, visions, more revelations. Some are having out of the body experiences where they’re taken up into the presence of the Lord where God is totally transforming their lives. It’s bring people back to the Lord that have drifted away from the presence of God. It’s incredible what God is doing as God is beginning to manifest the reality of the angels, their ministering spirits sent out to minister to us because there is a salvation to experience the touch from the angel. We’ve had people in the meetings receive a touch where the angel would come and they would feel the physical hand of the angel upon them.
Sid: Guess what, we had a prayer meeting yesterday and I just taught a little bit from your book “Open My Eyes Lord” and one person said “I feel a pressure on my hands.” What do you think was going on with him?
Gary: That was an angel; we see that all the time.
Sid: And another person said “I feel someone touching my face.”
Gary: Yes; yes.
Sid: And they never reported this before until we followed what you teach in your book.
Gary: People have experienced a touch from the angel and they haven’t been able to identify it and they feel like there’s somebody touching them from behind or something and turn around and there’s nobody’s there and you think “Well, that’s just my imagination;” that’s angel of the Lord. God wants us to be sensitive to the ministry of angels to know that they’re with us their presence is there with us to see us through difficult times to minister to others on our behalf as we begin to praise with others that angel is there to minister to them as well.
Sid: Listen, with all the prophecies of what’s going to happen in this late great planet earth with terrorism, disease and all of these things. I mean I don’t know of anything more important than for an individual believer to have their eyes open and have intimacy with God and hear He’s voice.
Gary: Oh absolutely.
Sid: I mean that’s the only safety we have is having that intimacy with God; and let me point out to you Mishpochah… Okay, Gary if you would pray for us.
Gary: Okay Father, we come to you in the Name of Jesus. God I ask you to release your angels of impartation Lord to go now upon each person that’s listening. Lord, I pray just as Elijah prayed for a servant Gehazi in 2nd Kings Chapter 6. Lord I pray open their eyes that they might see; God let them be a divine impartation; transference of that anointing to see in the Spirit God that you’d remove the scales from their eyes. Lord would you pull back the veil that they might behold You as You really are. God that they can see beyond the natural realm into the realm of the Spirit. Lord to see the ministry of angels; have visions and dreams and more revelation. Have a real encounter with the Living God; oh Lord I pray open their eyes that they might see in the Name of Jesus. Thank you Lord.
Sid: Oh I can tell you that I did not feel an angel touch me but I feel such peace as you’re praying that prayer that I believe that those that were hungering and thirsting for righteousness will be filled. Gary there are people suffering from physical problems right now; pains and diseases would you pray for them?
Gary: Yes, Father God we ask You now to send Your healing angels to go and visit them right where they are right in that room or in that car or wherever they are. God let Your healing presence be manifested in the Name of Jesus. Let Your healing anointing increase, let faith arise; let them receive now in the Name of Jesus. Receive that healing touch from the presence of God now; more Lord, more of Your healing power let it come. Sickness and disease go in Jesus name. Spirits of infirmity go in Jesus Name; spirits of affliction go in the name of Jesus; tumors disappear disappear now in the name of Jesus, cancers dry up and die and leave that body now in the Name of Jesus. Ears be opened pop open in the Name of Jesus; eyes begin to see. God release that healing anointing now let it flow like a river; let it flood their being right now. More Lord, more of a release of the healing power; thank You Father.
Sid: And I saw someone’s hip being restored and someone’s… and I heard someone’s back and neck; all pain is gone. Oh God You are so good.
Gary: Thank You Father.
Sid: Thank You for what You have done in Gary Oates and his wife Kathy’s life. Thank You for what you have done in my life just now. Thank You for what You have done in the life of those that are agreeing in prayer right now. I thank You Father God that this is it; this is Your end time army. And Father we want You; we desperately want You to use us but more than that oh God we want greater intimacy with You.
Gary: Yes.
Sid: We must know You; and Your word is so true Your word says if we draw close to You, You will draw close to us. And that’s what we’re doing in Yeshua’s Name. One last quick thought Gary.
Gary: Always press in for more of God’s presence; never be content with where you are spiritually; always go for more, more, more. Make the sacrifice; do what it takes to experience the fullness of God in your life; to experience that intimate relationship with Him to begin to fulfill the call of God on your life.

Sid: I am so excited because my guest Gary Oates, I have him on the telephone I’m speaking to him at his home in Dallas, Georgia. We’re blessed to be able to make this connection he’s traveling all over the world. He comes from a good evangelical fundamental background; raised Southern Baptist; on staff with Campus Crusade. Became a pastor; after he got Spirit filled in an independent charismatic church but he was just like all of us and then something happened. Literally the scales came off of his eyes; he began to see into the invisible world and began to see what God was doing. And then just like an actor he just follows what God is doing; and he began to see angels; he began to see demons; he began to hear God. But he found out how he could achieve that intimacy with God that his heart had always wanted; that he was praying for that he heard testimonies of but wasn’t happening to him. And he put together a book called “Open My Eyes Lord,” and it’s a practical how to book. And if you will follow these instructions I believe that where ever you are right now you’ll move into a realm. As a matter of fact Gary people who reading your book or following your advice; give me a real life person that has done this and what’s happened to them.
Gary: Well, I got a phone call from a lady in Washington State; actually we had known her for quite some time just a wonderful, wonderful person loves the Lord. And she said “You know she was so longing for her eyes to open more spiritual experiences with the Lord and I sent her a copy of my book. Well, in the meantime a fire began to develop in that area of Washington State toward the center of the state and it was coming near her neighborhood she called frantically crying “Please pray the fires coming.” We got the message we were out of town when we got back we later heard that the fire had diverted and gone toward the center of the state it was a real dry time it was in the summer. It was July or August and the temperatures there get 110-115 degrees in the summer time. And very dry and brittle time; the fire was running rampant burning thousands and thousands of acres. Well she was reading the book; she finished the book; she went through the prayer of impartation at the end and she began to pray and she said “Oh, she said “Send angels to put the fire out.” And as she had prayed the prayer “God open my eyes that I might see in the realm of Spirit.” God opened her eyes; two angels came in they were right in her room; they were holding big buckets of water and they said “We have come to put the fire out.” That day storm clouds came up out of nowhere, totally not normal for that time of year and dumped a heavy load of rain directly on the fire and put the fire out. And she saw some of the firemen leaving town later that day and they were amazed because the fire had been put out; they weren’t needed anymore. They said “This mysterious storm came up and dumped all this rain on the fire and put it out and we’re going home.
Sid: This is just an average person all of a sudden her eyes were open but this isn’t just happening to one or two people. I believe this is God’s time; I believe that Heaven is drawing so close to earth that those that hunger and thirst for righteousness. And I asked you when I spoke to you on the phone Gary I said “What do you do, do you put a worship cassette on and just worship God.” And you said “I do that,” I said “What do you do, do you read the Bible a lot?” And he said “I do that.” I said “What do you do do you do a lot of intercessory prayer and you said “I do that.” But that isn’t what gets me my intimacy. Give me some practical steps of what someone should do listening to us right now to walk into this intimacy with God.
Gary: A lot of the components of my time with the Lord is simply this it varies from time to time but I take a time I go in and I shut the door and I get down on the floor; there is something about getting in a prostrate position before the Lord, and allowing the Spirit of God to come; and I just begin to cry out to God. First I confess my sins; I ask Him to forgive me and cleans me; I begin to worship Him, I pray in tongues; I sing in the Spirit. I begin to recall past times where God has moved powerfully in my life where I’ve seen Him do miracles. And that…
Sid: And what about the person whose saying but I’ve never seen Him do a miracle; what should I do?
Gary: Recall those times that God did something special in our lives they met a need; they were crying out; God answered a prayer in a real special way to them. Recall those times as we testify to what God has done in our lives in the past it releases the power of God to do that same thing again in our lives. And as we reach out to Him just in a total position of humility and yielding ourselves totally to Him. I go through a process of yielding the members of my body to Him; I don’t do it as a formula to try to get God to do something but it’s just a daily reminder of not wanting to live according to desires of the flesh but to live in the realm of spirit. So I give Him my eyes so that I can see with His eyes; I give Him my ears that I can hear with His voice. I give Him my mouth that I might speak His words. I give Him my nose that I can smell his sweet fragrance. I give Him my hands that I can begin to touch what He’s touching only. And I give Him my feet that I can go where He wants me to go. I give Him my heart that my heart is totally his; a pure heart; a clean heart. I give Him my mind, I do all of that it’s a house cleaning, it’s a cleansing time that goes on. And then I just wait and I don’t ask for anything; it’s not “God give me this; God do that but rather God I just more of You; more of Your presence Lord, more of Your fullness.”
Sid: Okay you say that and then you’re there but what is going on, what happens if your mind starts wandering?
Gary: Well, the first time I did that it did; I made the decision. I went into the room the first time I did it because my priorities I said “My highest priority was to worship God and to spend time alone with Him.” But our priorities are what we actually do; and that’s not what I was doing. I decided one day I went in and I locked the door to my room and I said “I’m not coming out until I experience the manifest presence of God.” And I laid on the floor and hour went by and nothing happened my mind wondered. I had to keep focusing and focusing and I said “God I am not leaving here it I’m here all day long,” I was determined I was desperate and that’s what it takes a real desperateness, a determination to seek the deeper things of God. Not to just say we want it but willing to get on our face before Him and seek Him with all that we have.
Sid: But why does He require that He can touch anyone He wants anytime He wants to.
Gary: Well, it’s for our benefit it really shows where our heart is that our desire is for his presence and His presence alone. All the things that we want, spiritually speaking, come only from His presence that’s where it comes from. We’re busy seeking power, we’re wanting more of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; we’re wanting this and we’re wanting that God do all these other things. God if you just take care of this I’ll be so much better but we’re not…
Sid: God, if you give me a million dollars I’ll give money to ministry.
Gary: Exactly, exactly but it’s “God I want to seek Your face and as we begin to enter into His presence we begin to experience His manifest presence. By the way I was there for 3 hours on the floor before I began to sense the presence of God kept coming into the room.
Sid: But you were willing to just stay there until it happened.
Gary: Absolutely I was determined and that’s what it takes; it takes a real determination.
Sid: Was there a point where you almost stopped?
Gary: Yes, two or three times and no I’m not going to do this; I’m not going to do it. No, I’m not going to do this; I’m not going to do this; it was a struggle it was not easy. After that breakthrough and experiencing the presence of God like I did. I’ll tell you I’m more in love with Him than I’ve ever been in my life; I cannot get enough of His presence. I long for the presence of God; every day the first thing I do I get before Him seeking His presence; His presence alone. And as His manifest presence comes on I know that He there; that’s not the goal, that’s the beginning point. When we begin to experience His manifest presence; when He’s right there; when we’re in His presence that’s when He opens our eyes; that’s when we begin to see in the realm of the Spirit. That’s when He give us more revelation; that’s when we begin to have dreams, visions and that’s when we begin to see the gifts of the Spirit begin to slowing flowing. It’s like there’s an accumulative affect that happens in spending daily time alone just seeking the face of God. And then as we begin to talk to Him even on the street or in the place of work or anywhere that we are; as we begin to talk to Him God begins to speak to us in a new way.
Sid: Gary, why did you write this book “Open My Eyes Lord?”
Gary: Well, I struggled with it for a while to do it because I didn’t want any attention drawn to me over it and I didn’t want it to be just another testimony book. But I wanted it to be a practical approach to ministry where others could receive that impartation to have their eyes opened to begin to see in the Spirit to be drawn closer to the presence of God. To be able to experience the Kingdom of God on Earth just like Jesus said in the Lord’s prayer. You know “His Kingdom come; His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven;” as we experience the Heavenly as we experience the presence of God in this earth. It totally transforms our lives. This is available for every person.
Sid: What about your wife did anything happen to her?
Gary: Oh, my goodness yes; she had very similar experiences all along. God opened her eyes to see in the realm of the Spirit; she sees angels behind people; she’ll go over and she’ll do what she sees the angel doing and it brings healing. She’s had some dramatic healings happen as she’s seen a healing angel behind a person. And so she goes and does what she see the angel doing. God’s opened her eyes in a marvelous way to see in the realm of the Spirit.
Sid: Have many people that have had you pray the prayer of impartation from either reading in the book or as we’ll do on tomorrow’s broadcast had their lives so radically transformed as you have and your wife?
Gary: Yes we get so many reports back from people that have read the book that are beginning to see in the Spirit; they put the book down they’re praying, they’re seeking the face of God; they turn around an angel appears to them.
