Sid: If there’s ever a time to blow the shofar it’s the feast of Trumpets and tonight begins Feast of Trumpets. Now my guest has been all of the week is Bible Teacher Michael Lane. Michael, like myself, is a Jewish believer in the Messiah. Michael when you hear the shofar what goes on inside of you?
Michael: Oh! That’s an interesting question, most of the times I just feel the anointing of God as we spoke before. The enemy knows the scriptures and he knows that when the Lord comes back ultimately there’s going to be a shofar blast and maybe he doesn’t know them that well and he’s wondering if the Lord’s coming back at that moment and he’s shuttering.
Sid: You know I’ve read in commentaries that the ancient Rabbi’s say that it’s like a voice of a prophet of an Old Covenant prophet that is wailing to God an interceding on behalf of the Jewish people. And I can’t think of a better thing that we can be doing between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur as I said on yesterday’s broadcast than praying for the salvation of Israel. I’m reminded also as I said earlier this week that when the shofar’s blown it drives the devil crazy because of what Michael just said. Because the devil thinks “Uh oh curtains this is it, the Messiah is returning, lake of fire here I come!” I think it’s time to hear that shofar again and I believe that what if you will use this shofar blast as a point of contact in Yeshua’s name. Imagine it’s the ancient prophets that are wailing to God on your behalf for your deliverance, for your healing, for your salvation, for your families salvation, whatever your need for your financial problems, for your emotional problems whatever you’ll need I want you to use this as a point of contact and Michael and I are going to be praying for you right now. And let’s hear that Rosh Hashanah, Feast of Trumpet’s shofar blast! (Sound of Shofar Blast) Receive your miracle in Yeshua’s name, in Jesus name Amen! Now Michael we have tonight begins Rosh Hashanah, 10 days later Yom Kippur where Jewish people are in the synagogue praying and fasting all day that our sins be forgiven, that our names be in the inscribed in the book of life. But then 5 days after that comes something joyful tell me about it.
Michael: Well the Feast of Tabernacles is the ultimate coming of the Lord when He comes back for us I believe that it’ll be during the Feast of Tabernacles. Really Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are just looking forward in preparation to Tabernacles with it’s trumpets and day of Atonement. And ingathering speaks of the final working of God in the earth prior right before His Second Coming. And the gathering of saints unto the Lord and perfection of the churches body by the power of the blood atonement and the final harvest. You know Passover time as you mentioned Sid was just a lamb for a family and we talked about praying for our families that they all can be saved. But the difference between atonement and Passover is that when the Day of Atonement came it was for the whole nation and obviously when the Lord came He died for the whole world. But the final harvest is all about the final ingathering when it’ll be the ultimate of salvation of many many people and the feast just the feasts for all of the nations all over the place. But a lot of it is about the seasonal rains, the final harvest, the sacrifice, rejoicing of booths. The seasonal rains that this the latter rain and the former rain; James speaks about it. We can look at in Passover time there was a rain so that the crops could come up, but then at Tabernacles there’s the latter rain. So for us and looking at the progression of redemption that we have we didn’t talk about too much of this but our lives we can see ourselves as are we Passover believers. Where we just come to the Lord, He shed His blood for us, we’ve dealt with some leaven that was in our life quote unquote some sin that was in our life. And we understand that He’s been resurrected and we’ve confessed that. And then we’ve moved to the middle Feast of the Lord Pentecost and we’ve gotten filled with the Spirit, we have the gifts of the Spirit. But in order to come and be a believer that really understands and appreciates the spiritual blessings symbolized by Tabernacles we want to blow the Trumpet in Zion in our own hearts be a witness and not hold back and cry aloud as Isaiah spoke and Joel spoke. We want to come into Yom Kippur in our spirits and dress in linen in our hearts and have the righteous acts and be clean and holy and be washed in the regeneration of the word and bring incense into the Holy of Holies. And know that we have access to the throneroom by His mercy and grace into the Holy of Holies. This rain that comes in the last days the rain represents the Holy Spirit, the word of God is just powerful there’s going to be such a famine for the word of God in these last days. Believers that they read a little they have a little time or they go to a little Bible study they want to wake up early and rise or they went to stay up later. Just during the day their going to instead of lunch their going to just read the word, there’s going to be a famine for the word of God. This the land that drinks the water from the rain of heaven it gives the late and the early rains and in its seasons Solomon was praying 500 years later after all of this was going on saying “There’s no rain” that was the issue whether it was going to rain or not that’s how we knew we were blessed. And for us it’s the Holy Spirit representing this rain, rain representing the Holy Spirit. And if there’s no rain Lord if we repent and confess Your Name will You hear from heaven and what? And send rain, Elijah what did he do for 3. He said “For 3 years there will be no rain except for My word.” It’s just awesome thing about the early and latter rains coming to us. We want to sow in righteousness Isaiah 10 and 12 I think it is. “Break up the fallow ground for it’s time to seek the Lord saints until He reigns showers of righteousness on us.” He’s going to rain, sometimes the word rain even means teacher, He’ll come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth an awesome, awesome time. The Prophet Joel talks about this the double portion so much and whatever happens to us when we first got saved during Passover time in our life it’s doing to just be doubled expenetially.
Sid: Well I’m reminded in Joel the 2nd chapter the 23third verse it says “The former rain and the latter rain are going to come down together.” What does that mean to you?
Michael: Yes it’s just the exponential rain of the Spirit of God coming upon us, He anointed us, He called us it’s only by the Spirit that we can confess Him. So in these latter days we’re going to be so full because we went through the Day of Atonement spiritually that we understand the power of the blood of the Lamb. And really understand when Aaron went into that Holy of Holies again. But the power of the blood of Jesus of Yeshua, the manifestation we will be laying hands on the sick and seeing the dead raised, why not? This is what it’s all about right before that. In Tabernacles there was some promises that we had, one was being unity and safety. You read in Ezra for instance and Nehemiah when the 7th month came they were all gathered together by the Watergate. And they heard the word of God and those that could understand they were there listening. And Ezra, Nehemiah they just spoke and made sure the people understood; now they did something different they read the word from morning until noonday and then they worshipped. They worshipped because they heard the word. We think that we need to worship to get our hearts stirred up so that we can hear the preacher do his sermon. We don’t ? but any way they had continual burnt offerings, there was 70 which represents the Sanhedrin and the High Priests and it’s funny because the Lord set out His 70. And there was 70 offerings during the whole time of Tabernacles; they built an altar. Remember Nehemiah 8, this is interesting because we we’re always quoting “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”
Sid: Right.
Michael: They were agreeing Nehemiah 8 because for the first time in all of these years they came back to the land after being captive in Babylon. And they were hearing the word of God from Nehemiah and Ezra and these guys and they were grieved because they weren’t keeping the Feasts. And the guy at the podium they said “Don’t be grieved for the joy of the Lord is your strength, send out food and drink and be happy that you heard the word of God but now let’s keep it.” But it’s interesting how we need to look at the law first mentioned to see what it really means. So the entire assembly was there but every time anybody came up from Jerusalem the males 20 years old and other 20 years older it was just an amazing promise in Exodus 34:24 and it says “Every time you come up to the Jerusalem 3 times a year I’m going to drive out the nations before you; I’m going to extend your frontiers or enlarge your borders. And no man will covet your land when you go up 3 times a year.”
Sid: How would you like that upon you? You know Mishpochah there is so much in these Biblical Festivals that so few Christians understand.
