Sid: You may remember I’ve interviewed several times Cal Pierce he’s the man that God commissioned to open up the healing room of John G. Lake in Spokane, Washington. And that same angel that was ministering with John G. Lake is in that room now. Well he recently, Cal Pierce, sent me an email and told me about a young man by the name of Curry Blake and he said “Sid you really have to interview him this man has prayed for dead people that have come back to life, for people with AIDS that have been set free. I mean he is so militant in his prayer that he does not settle for anyone not manifesting a healing and he’s very radical” I started talking to Curry Blake on the telephone and I found out that he came into possession of John G. Lakes teaching that had never been published previously and actually his instructions for his training program. You see John G. Lake had a healing room in Spokane, Washington in the first quarter of the 20th century and Spokane, Washington actually got an award for the being the healthiest city in the United States a hospital literally closed down because so many people were being healed. And the way that John G. Lake equipped the people that prayed for the sick was like a training manual and this is now in Curry Blake’s possession. And the first thing he did was he read it and digested it and he started doing what John G. Lake said to do. And there were many nuances many differences between what John G. Lake said to do… where he got these wonderful results I mean they did not dismiss someone from their healing room unless they were healed. They told their healing practitioner’s that’s what they called them “You stay with this person until they were healed.” And today it’s very different you go into a healing line the evangelist lays hands on you a couple of people have a manifestation of a healing most people go home and the majority of them never manifest their healing. But Curry Blake when you’re in a meeting I’m talking about instant results tell me about l meeting you had and what you saw as far as instantly healed.
Curry: I had one lady we were in Nashville, North Carolina we were praying for people that had cancer terminal cancer is generally the way that they term it. And she came forward it was actually breast and female cancer and she said she wanted to prayer. And so we started ministering to her the way that we do it and it’s different from what most people do. But when we ministered to her she instantly well she went to the restroom actually and checked herself and found out that everything was gone. They went and told her to go ahead and tell your doctor be checked and get back with us. As she left another man came forward that had cancerous tumors in his arm he was scheduled for surgery instead of me praying for her for him I sent to go out and grab the lady before she left brought her back in had her pray for the man just told her to do what she saw us do pray for him the way we prayed for you and she did so and he was instantly healed. We got the testimonies back and the man is in Charlotte, North Carolina had his name on file and everything can be checked out he’s verified.
Sid: But let’s take that particular meeting how many people in that meeting said that they had a manifestation of healing?
Curry: Instantly everyone said that they felt the thing that they could feel every one of them that were there felt they healed. Now the ones that were eternal and different things going on they got back with us later. So it really was a matter of like I said everybody that we prayed for has been healed.
Sid: Well Mispochah that’s sure different than what you results are and maybe John G. Lake knew something that the current generation does not understand. And Curry let’s find out a little bit about, you I understand the devil tried to take your life when you were just 17 months old.
Curry: Yes Sir.
Sid: Tell me about that.
Curry: I was 17 months old at the family reunion my father didn’t see me and had to go to the store and back out over me with a car I was playing in the driveway.
Sid: Ooh.
Curry: Ripped my right ear completely off my scalp, ripped the scalp from the right ear to the left ear pulled the scalp down like a mask down to my eye level. It took the doctors roughly 6½ hours and 172 stitches to put me back together.
Sid: But your mother was a praying woman and what was the prognosis for you?
Curry: First when they first got there they said “Buy a casket and a plot of ground because I was going to die there was no way around it.” And then my mom went to praying, they went into do surgery. After about an hour they came back out and they said he may live but if he does he’ll be a vegetable that’s was their words. They went back in and my Mom went back to praying and committed me to God and said “He’s Yours I’ll raise him in training for you if you’ll let him live and heal him.” They came back out shortly after and said “We can’t find any signs of brain damage yet but even if there is no brain damage he will never have any hearing in his right ear and he will have no hair. So they went back in to do some more surgery and my mom went back to praying today I sit here with a full set of hair perfect hearing and at least an average IQ some of my family may disagree with.
Sid: I can verify that Mishpochah but in 1981 after you were married and you had your first daughter a tragedy hit.
Curry: My first daughter was born with an acromegaly tumor which made her tongue about the size of my fist. She could hardly keep it into her mouth and wherever we went people would stare and they even built a little thing to put across her mouth so that people couldn’t see it. It was very horrible but we were getting advances in healing she was being healed it was a process it was gradual but which I don’t like but never the less it was what was going on.
Sid: What do you mean you don’t like it I mean as long as someone’s healed?
Curry: Well that’s true but sometimes in the long fight you get tired and that when you don’t get instant healings or near instant healings people will get tired. And so when people get tired and they give up a lot of times that’s when the devil comes in to really try to end it right then. With Erica our first daughter she actually died of pneumonia and she passed away on Friday the 13th and we buried her on Valentine’s Day on February 14th 1981.
Sid: After she died you called a number of prominent healing evangelists what happened?
Curry: They were all busy they were all in conference or I couldn’t reach them I couldn’t get to them. They had…I couldn’t get through the secretary most of the time the secretary’s would tell me that my daughter was better off where she was that it may not be God’s will to bring her back. Because I wouldn’t pray…I was praying for someone to raise her up I had good teaching that God would raise the dead and I thought that now’s the perfect time for it to come to pass. But all that were preaching it nobody was producing it and I couldn’t get through to any of them. To be honest with you I got pretty upset about it and I made a vow to God at that moment though there was no man for me at that time that I would become that man for someone else. And today we’ve ministered to literally 1000’s of people and I’ve been able to hand a child back to the parents and say “Here’s your child and see what God has done.” A child that was definitely going to die had lymphatic leukemia 4 years old and God instantly healed her. And to me not only was that a victory for the parents but it was my stab at Satan.
Sid: So you made that determination at that point when your daughter died.
Curry: Yes.
Sid: Then your second daughter died.
Curry: Yes Sir she fell from a second story window onto concrete pavement when she hit the ground I was sitting at a table and I saw something go pass the windows so I got up to see what it was I didn’t know that it was my daughter. And when I got to her she was lying face down on the concrete patio where she tried to break her fall with her hands. When I picked her up she was dead and there was no breath no life no heart beat there was blood in her mouth but no none coming out. I picked her up started walking around the patio she was dead it was that simple. I knew a dead body I’d healed dead bodies and she was dead. And in my head I kept hearing all over again my first daughter’s death at the little white casket saw the people crying I saw my pastor performing my wife crying everybody there upset and in my head I kept hearing voices saying “Another one you’re losing another one oh my God not again, not again, not again you’re losing another one” it kept swirling around it kept getting louder and louder and louder. But out of my mouth I started saying “In the name of Jesus you will live and not die, you will live and not die in the name of Jesus you will live and not die.” And I was carrying her in my arms she’s still dead no life I started walking around my patio and getting louder and louder and I had to get louder because the voices in my head were so loud. And so I kept getting louder and saying “In the name of Jesus you will live and not die.” This took place for about 15 minutes for 15 or 20 minutes then I took her inside the house still no life set her down on the floor up against the wall in the kitchen knelt down in front of her and started pointing my finger at her chest and saying “In the name of Jesus you will live and not die” And at that time my wife and my other 2 children came downstairs and my wife saw what had happened started to panic and I turned to her and I said “Shut up if you can’t believe leave.” She instantly got quiet I turned back to my daughter…
Sid: You knew that this was a life a life or death situation and of course she was already dead.
Curry: Of course there was no backing off there was no need to go to the doctor she was already dead there was nothing they could do. So I went back to just pointing my finger at her and saying “In the name of Jesus you will live and not die.” And after another 10 to 12 minutes all of a sudden it was like someone punched her in the stomach she didn’t breathe in first she just exhaled and spewed blood all over my shirt I was that close to her and her eyes started to focus you could see her coming back. And the first thing she’d say when she looked at me and said “Daddy I’m hungry.”
Sid: Hmm.
Curry: Well later on we realized through death that whenever Jesus said “Feed them give them something to eat.”
Sid: Well how long was she dead?
Curry: Well approximately 30 minutes.
Sid: That must have been something for your faith but also I can see where after losing one daughter it must have been a fight to take that stand.
Curry: To be honest with you right at that time as a matter of fact when she fell out the window I was sitting at the kitchen table studying the Bible at that time there was no question there was no backing off, there was no…there was no other way.
