PATRICIA: And I remember one time when one of our kids wrote this misspelled note to my husband. It said, Dad! I want you to come home! Come home! And it was a Word from the Lord! It was where we had to pull back from the busyness of revival and all of the great –
PAT: Can you lose your kids in revival?
PATRICIA: Oh my goodness! I don’t want to win the world and lose my kids!
PAT: Yeah.
PATRICIA: So prioritizing! Obviously God. Then marriage. Then children. And then ministry. So that has been something that we go back to again and again! One of the things the Lord spoke to me though is He said this. He said, Patricia, you fulfill your calling and your kids will fulfill their calling! So you know knowing when to say yes and when to say no, as well as He also said this. You help take care of My kids. I’m going to take care of your kids. And I’ve seen that! I’ve seen how He has, you know, done this so beautifully! Also helped as they have gotten older. Even raised up other mentors! For example, my daughter works closely with Mike Bickle in the International.
PAT: Yeah, wow!
PATRICIA: She works very closely with him and I thought O God, thank You for raising up a great mentor for her as well! But yes. Prioritizing the family. And at night time we seek to spend time. We play a lot of games!
PAT: We do too!
PATRICIA: For 20 years we actually didn’t have a TV. I know that’s probably very counter-cultural! But we just thought we want to prioritize the time that we have at home with our kids. Playing a lot of games. Still, do play a lot of games. Have a lot of communication. As I mentioned earlier my husband spends a lot of time with our kids. Our youngest is 14. She actually won’t go to sleep until he comes home! [Laughs] It’s like eleven o’clock. She’s like are you coming home yet? And he spends time just in the Word with her and reads to her. And so yeah this is precious time. And I want to say this to the parents out there in case you think oh my goodness, I’m in diapers like.
PAT: Wow!
PATRICIA: You know the time goes so fast! I know that my mother told me that when I was five! She said time oh goes fast and I’m like yeah, right, you know? I don’t believe it! But now I do! And I just want to say treasure those moments and you know enjoy every stage! I can honestly say I enjoyed the two – call them the terrific two’s! And then we also said we refuse teenage rebellion! That’s not part of our family heritage!
PAT: Come on! That’s right!
PATRICIA: And we have not had one day of teenage rebellion and we’ve had six of them go through it! So I just think it’s like what does God say? You know let’s get into kingdom culture here including in our families! Yeah!
PAT: Oh man! I just feel the presence of God right now! You know if you’re watching right now I just want to encourage you because in just a moment we’re going to, towards the end of this we’re going to pray over you. We’re going to pray that God restores your home! We’re going to pray that curses are broken off your family! We’re going to tell you that you can restore the church in your house! You need the church outside as well. You need that community! [Music] But restoring the glory of God in your home! Letting Father visit your house in the middle of the night!
