JAMIE: In fact, I do want to pray. I had a prayer prayed over me. Ephesians 1:17. That the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus would be given. And when I had that prayer prayed on me suddenly I started seeing flashes of light so powerful. These flashes they stay with me to today. I see the power of God on people. I see a flash of light touch them. And it was all over the room and then I saw the Holy Spirit. And He was like a big giant flash of light. He was zipping around the room. I’m going to pray that same prayer, Ephesians 1:17. “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The eyes of your understanding would be enlightened to know the hope of His calling, the glory of the riches of His inheritance in the saints and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” I want you to do me a favor. Get into a posture of receiving. Don’t strain your eyes. Don’t try to cross your eyes looking for the 3-D image. Just get into a posture of receiving and just in a way think happy thoughts.
ART: [laughs]
JAMIE: Like God is good. God loves me. And in that place of receiving Father, I ask that You would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation! Open the eyes of their heart. Let them see as You see. Give them the eyes of Jesus! And let them know what the Holy Spirit is revealing about the world around them! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Let it be!
ART: You know one of the things I love is you run into people who are like well I don’t know if I’ve ever heard God’s voice or anything like that. John 6 Jesus said no one comes to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them. And just a few verses later He says everyone who’s heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. And you share that verse and then you get more people saying well wait a minute. Does that mean like I don’t remember hearing God’s voice when I got saved? The sky didn’t rip open, you know?
GJ: Right.
ART: Generally speaking we’re talking about that inner like you heard the Gospel and something inside’s like this is right. I need this. Right? So how do you like recognize that internal voice of God which is so often how He communicates with us?
JAMIE: Yeah. That’s been – you know He says my sheep know my voice.
ART: Yeah.
JAMIE: Right?
ART: Yup.
JAMIE: And I feel that knowing, is a learning process. It’s not something that you know they initially know and they go oh! You know there it is! I’ll never ever doubt again! I’ll never ever you know be distracted again. And when the enemy comes and tries to imitate the voice of God – I had to learn in a way when the enemy was coming trying to pretend to be the voice of God in my life I started challenging it. The scripture says test every spirit to see whether it is of God or not.
ART: Yeah.
JAMIE: And Art, I remember when I tested it and the response I heard back – I tested it and I thought no way. The Holy Spirit does not have a swearing problem! I mean as soon as I started challenging, testing – and I wasn’t testing in unbelief – I was testing in faith.
ART: Yeah. That’s good!
JAMIE: And I knew in that moment I needed to switch gears. I needed to really learn what the Holy Spirit sounds like! And that’s when I began to embrace the love of God. That God loves me. He’s my Father and when He speaks to me He’s not harsh. He’s not critical. He’s so encouraging and it makes me want to love Him. It makes me want to – it doesn’t force me to love Him – it compels me to love! ART: Awesome! Awesome!
