JAMIE: You know and they came – they brought this man to Jesus. They said who sinned?
ART: Yeah.
JAMIE: Who sinned? His fathers? He? Who sinned? And I feel like Jesus is saying wrong question.
ART: Exactly.
JAMIE: Like let’s just get Them healed!
ART: Yeah.
JAMIE: This is for the glory of God! This moment is for the glory of God! Right? And so they just lean into healing in that moment. Do you find that so often we’re trying to investigate when we really just need to apply healing?
ART: [laughs] Yeah. I think we have a tendency to troubleshoot. Romans 12 says don’t conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you’ll be able to test and approve what God’s will is. Right?
JAMIE: Right!
ART: So the pattern of this world is if I try – like if I’m trying to get the lid off the mayonnaise jar and it’s not working the pattern of this world is I got to try harder. I got to get some tool [click sound] –
JAMIE: Right.
ART: That I can crank on there or something. The pattern of the kingdom is try less, trust more!
JAMIE: Phew!
ART: And that’s when I had the mayonnaise jar to my wife [laughs] and she can open it instantly, you know?
JAMIE: Yeah, right, right!
ART: It’s not about my effort. It’s all about His effort! So we have a tendency like the first time I prayed you know I said in Jesus’ name and did my thing and they didn’t get healed so maybe this time I’ll fast. Or maybe this time I’ll quote a few scriptures on healing. Maybe – in other words maybe this time I’ll twist God’s arm a little tighter –
JAMIE: Mmm!
ART: And hopefully squeeze out a little healing! And He’s like guys you’re missing My heart on this! I want this more than you do!
JAMIE: Wow!
ART: I’m the one who sacrificed for it, not you! [laughs]
JAMIE: Yeah! Yeah! It’s sort of an interesting thing. I think we’re in a reformation in our thinking!
ART: Yup!
JAMIE: You know? I mean years ago, right, people would not think they could be saved in an instant.
JAMIE: Right. [laughs]
ART: Nowadays we’d say every head bowed, every eye closed. You know raise your hands if you want to come to Jesus.
JAMIE: Yeah.
ART: It’s a simple as that but you know four or five hundred years ago this is a reformational piece. You know we’re like oh my gosh you can actually come to Jesus? You can be saved. I feel this is the same kind of dynamic when it comes to healing.
ART: Yup
JAMIE: Wouldn’t you say there’s something to this? What do you feel the next level is as far as this healing wave that we’re experiencing right now?
ART: Phew! I don’t know if this is the next level but I know this is where we’re headed.
JAMIE: Uh-huh.
ART: You know in Acts chapter 5 the believers were all meeting together in Solomon’s colonnade and it says the people brought all the sick and demon possessed and all of them were healed.
JAMIE: Wow!
ART: So I know that 100% results post-Jesus is biblical.
JAMIE: Yes!
