Sid: My guest is Don Gossett and we’ve been just reminiscing a little bit about his life because he’s 83 years young and he’s been in let’s see how many years have you been in ministry Don if you started about 17 or 18? So that’s over say 60 years and you’ve learned… and you had such a unique beginning you got mentored under a great healing evangelist by the name of William Freeman. Then you started working as an editor for TL Osborn, who probably saw more miracles than any human on earth. Then God gave you a revelation of His word that you could operate in miracles that anyone could operate in miracles. You started praying for the sick and seeing the same types of results. Tell me some creative miracles that have occurred when you’ve prayed for people.
Don: Well I was in Oregon in a meeting and a man named Lucky Mets came forward he was limping quite critically. So I asked him what his problem was and he told me he had been in an accident 22 years before and that his knee cap was damaged badly and they had to remove it through surgery. So I said “Lucky I’ll ask you a second question “Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? He said “No, I’m not,” and said then “You can go to Heaven with a kneecap missing but you can never enter there without being born again.” I said “Would you like to receive Christ as your savior and Lord?” And he said “Yes, I would.” So after I led him a sinners prayer and he received Christ, I then said “I’m going to act upon Jesus word “Whatsoever you shall ask in My Name that will I do that the Father be glorified in his son.” John 14:13. And I simply placed my hands upon this knee that had no kneecap and I asked him to roll up his pants leg and see what God had done. And it was an astounding miracle, he had new kneecap there and he had then left the platform to go around and around the church and people were just rejoicing mightily. And then Dr. Thomas came forward and he had been the Physician that had performed this surgery 22 years before and in his files he had the x-ray revealing that Lucky had no kneecap after this surgery 22 years before. And then he said “I’ve seen only a couple three miracles in all my practice and he said “This is the work of the greatest physician.” And I think that’s exactly the results and this man was back in meeting after meeting and I went over to ask him to just give us a demonstration of what the Lord had done. He was very hilarious about it and it was a wonderful miracle. There have been awesome miracles especially in overseas missions; I’ve gone to India 24 times strictly for Crusades and they often were attended by 10’s of 1000’s of people and it was really powerful what God has done.
Sid: Tell me some notable miracle that occurred there. And I know that there were so many you couldn’t… there’s no way you could tell us all but tell me one that comes to mind.
Don: Well a lady who has been bed ridden and her body didn’t function hardly at all it was like a form of paralysis and her husband was a wealthy land Baron there in India. And he heard about the meetings and he drove over a hundred kilometers to come to our meeting. And they were and she would lie in the back seat of the car and I always climax every service with not only individual prayer and most pretty mass prayers because the crowds were so large. So I would pray for all the difference infirmities that the Spirit of God would bring into my attention and I prayed that night for those who were paralyzed those who could not walk or use their limbs just to agree with me. As I did so her testimony was that she began to have feeling in her feet that her toes could wiggle and her hand began to move and she became convinced in a short time that she had received a wonderful miracle. And she and her husband walked all the way to the platform; she had been atrophied and had not used her body so it was really a double miracle in that respect. In those meetings in India in the main part because were in a foreign land we would often request that doctors if possible who had come to the front and be an examining committee to verify that each person who coming forward to say that they had a miracle it was really accurate. Because the meeting was always there in newspapers in India were very prominent and they wanted to be sure everything was accurate was on the platform. The doctors checked this woman and got her full and understanding she was then ushered to the platform where I met her for the first time as she and her husband. When she had told her miracle story what had happened that very night they began to weep and people were just stirred all over the field there were 10’s of thousands of people. And that was one of many many miracles; the miracles in India everywhere I went to all the main cities and even the small places. I was always accompanied by just God working miracles. It was… and more often than not it was always a mass prayer a prayer for people to receive a miracle and it was really… it always happened every time there was a service it was many people that wanted to come forth and give their testimony. And I often I would pray for those that were deaf in one or both ears and they were scores and totally 100’s of people that were deaf received their hearing. And blind eyes and all kinds of infirmities and they were just my going to India was one of the greatest delights in my whole life because it was accompanied by mighty signs and wonders.
Sid: Now Don you have been hit with various sicknesses over your life and loved ones have tell me about one time you were hit with sickness and how God healed you.
Don: Well, the more recent one was just not very many years ago that the doctor was aware there was something in my body that needed to have attention and so he made an ultrasound and then he came back out to say “Don you have an aneurism in the oratory of your heart.” And he said that “You know what an aneurism is?” And I said “Well I don’t know scientifically but my own father had an aneurism a few years before that and when it burst he was dead in four hours, so I know it could be very critical.” So he said “Well I ordering a cat scan and we’ll have that done as soon as they can work it in their schedule.” And six weeks was scheduled to have the aneurism and my wife Debra and I everyday virtually spoke the alphabet of healing these 26 healing scriptures on this publication you mentioned about the different scrolls or posters.
Sid: Oh laminated poster, I mean I would like to see everyone do these. What you do you take each letter of the alphabet and you have a word there like “A” is attend, and it says the scripture. “Attend to my words; incline thy ear to my sayings; let them not depart from my eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart for they are life to those that find them and health to all their flesh.” And you have that for every letter so you started reading that what happened?
Don: Well, after the 6 weeks we had the cats scan and then a couple weeks maybe later the doctor called me back in with my wife and said… he kind of first kind of smiling and then he said “Don you have no more aneurism it’s all gone.” Well, he had told me before the aneurism was unable to have any healing possibilities because of the nature of it so it was a clear cut demonstration of God’s power one of the most profound personal healings I’ve had you know. And of course there have been others too.
Sid: Now I’m curious because I remember as a new believer I started reading your book “What You Say is What You Get.” And the book I have to tell you I’m reading this now the one that over 5 million have sold, the combination of Kenyan’s writings and yours called “Keys to Receiving God’s Miracles.” Have you heard of many people that have been physically healed from reading these two books?
Don: Oh yes through the years we’ve had many reports thousands of them from people who have been healed through reading my books.
Sid: I have to tell you I can’t think of a better thing for someone to be reading beyond the Bible itself than your books, what faith builders.
