SID: Hello, Sid Roth here with Lonnie Lane, Lonnie is a Jewish woman that boldly proclaims that she hears God’s voice, and Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, now you heard God’s voice and there was a revelation that Jesus was the Messiah, but after that did you still hear God’s voice?
LONNIE: Well I hear God’s voice every day, but it is a still small voice inside of myself, the way Elijah heard the voice, we have conversation, I ask God questions, He gives me wisdom, then He gives you insight and, but He is my constant companion, my God is also my friend and my Father, and when I heard the voice of God, I heard, I knew it was God but it had a 30 year old sound, so I couldn’t get away from the fact that this had to be Yeshua, this had to be Jesus too, and He is God.
SID: You told your dad, what did he have to say?
LONNIE: My Dad had the most unusual response for a Jewish father, usually your Jewish daughter tell her father she believes in Jesus, he doesn’t get up and hug her and tell her he is glad that she found what is good
SID: You should have seen what my father did, but that’s okay.
LONNIE: I would probably expected more of whatever it was that your father did, but he actually started coming to Sunday School with me and he would go to the classes, and eventually I said, “Dad why is this so easy for you to accept this?” And it turned out that he had a very difficult time in his life years ago when I was a, I guess I was a teenager, and he used to listen to a Christian talk show on the radio on the way to work, and he would listen for the wisdom, and he would listen for the comfort, and try to tune out the Jesus part, but he was just desperate at one point and he pulled the car over to the side of the road and he said, “Jesus if you are really there, can you help, you are the only one left.” And he was flooded over with a warmth, and he started to weep a releasing kind of weeping, he just wept and he wept and he wept, and when that was over he just always
had a sense of the Lord being with him but he couldn’t tell anybody, how if you’re Jewish it really hard to say to somebody, “I talked to Jesus and He responded to me, and now I have a sense of Him being with me all the time.” So he was really relieved that maybe he could have Jesus be part of his life.
SID: Okay, you went one way, your Dad agreed, but your brother went another way, a way that is unfortunately acceptable in the Jewish community, even though the Book of Deuteronomy the 18th chapter calls it an abomination specifically, I’m talking about the New Age, you brother was one of the leaders, he put together a big event, a Millennium type of event, but his mind was really shut.
LONNIE: Well he, you know because he had been involved with drugs, not hard drugs, but marijuana and LSD, so that he was high all the time, but he also meditating you know that part of the meditating was to empty your mind, following Eastern religions, and he really couldn’t say really a whole lot more than, “What’s happening?” You know what I mean? So I would try to share the Lord with him and like, “What do you know?”
He just really discounted it all.
SID: How could he go hook, line and sinker into the New Age and not at least be open-minded about Jesus?
LONNIE: You do wonder don’t you?
SID: Yeah.
LONNIE: I mean I think because when you are deceived and think that those things might be real you don’t know what the truth is.
SID: But God speaks to you and He told you that your brother would be a believer in the Messiah.
LONNIE: He told me that he would be, I actually saw a vision of him, and I saw him you know at that point he was really
SID: You are really like these people, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all the people we read about, having a vision.
LONNIE: Well I think that everybody who comes to the Lord really and you have that kind of relationship with the Lord, especially if you are Jewish.
SID: It’s natural!
LONNIE: It’s just natural, I have a relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through Messiah and that’s natural, He interacts with His people, He’s just wonderful. So I’m sort of sharing some of these things with my brother and one day he came over, he happened to be in the area, he had moved closer, and he came and we were having some applesauce cake, in my kitchen, and I just prayed and said a blessing before we ate, and just thanked the Lord for being there with us and I said a few other things and when I, you know I had my head down, and when I looked up, my brother had tears going down his cheeks and I said, “Michael, what’s happening?” And he said, when he finally could talk, and he said Jesus just touched me and I know who He is now. And his life was totally changed like that, his life was completely changed.
SID: His mind was so messed up from drugs and from New Age and meditation and…
LONNIE: He had also had pedimal as a young, as a child, and so he didn’t do very well in school, never really actually finished, but he started going to Bible School and got straight “A’s” and he can, he can tell you where anything is in the Bible, he teaches extemporaneously on just the Jewish roots of Christianity and he is, it’s a miracle.
SID: Your mother-in-law, your Jewish mother-in-law?
LONNIE: My Jewish mother-in-law got saved on Yom Kippur, and she just had a
SID: Yom Kippur?
LONNIE: Yom Kippur, on Yom Kippur, and it was just a wonderful experience because she had heard so many tapes of so many extraordinary stories that she kept saying to me, well I’m waiting for my time, I’m waiting for, I said but Mom, you know who Jesus, oh I know who He is. And she knew she was a sinner, and I said finally on Yom Kippur, God actually told me to go with her on Yom Kippur, and to talk to her about this, and I said well why, what is holding you back, she said well I am waiting for my testimony, she is waiting for this enormous supernatural thing to happen and I said no, for a Jewish woman to come to the Lord, to realize who Yeshua is, and to really embrace him that is a miracle. Oh, I didn’t know that, she said, well then let’s pray right now, and she reached for my hand and she said, Yeshua, Lord, I’m sorry it took me so long, I really want you in my life and she just turned her life over to the Lord and I watched her life completely turn around.
SID: You know Lonnie, I think it is fascinating that here, we are two Jewish people and Lonnie, four generations of her family now believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, and every member of my immediate Jewish family believes that Yeshua is the Messiah and I know something about you, I know that I am speaking to some Jewish people right now and you know that Yeshua is the Messiah, and you are waiting to be struck by lightening or something like that, and that is why God has us right in your living room telling you that no, what you need is God, you don’t need lightening, you don’t need anything else, you just need God and it is an act of your will it is an act of your pride, it is recognizing that, as Lonnie said, that we all have fallen short of the beauty and righteousness of God, compared to God, we all, Isaiah, the great Jewish prophet, he said, “Woe is me, I’m undone, I have seen the Lord, He is high and lifted up and His train, it fills the temple, and angels cry holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,” and he said, “I’m undone.” If he was undone how about you? You lie a little, steal, a little bit on income tax, little bit from the company you work for, sex outside of marriage, new age, you are addicted to drugs, pornography, why don’t you get addicted in a good way to pure love? Why would you want to mess with these cheap counterfeits when you can know the real God? Lonnie knows what peace is, Lonnie’s mother knows what peace is, Lonnie’s father knows what peace is, Lonnie’s brother knows what peace is, do you know what peace is? Do you know what it is to not worry about anything? Do you know what it is to not be afraid of death, do you know what it is to know be afraid of life, do you know what it is to hear God’s voice? You have one of two options, you can either pray that Jesus become real to you and show you the truth, or, there are many I’m talking to, you are already know and you need to just say I know, I believe Jesus, you are my Messiah, and you need to start telling people about this. Why?, because this life is a vapor, this life is a blink of the eye, and all that counts is your intimacy with God, time to come home, I mean you have been up and down, and up and down, are you going to be out, or are you going to accomplish your destiny, I mean choose today choose this night whom you are going to serve, but as for me and my house, no contest, I’m serving the living God. So if your rabbi walked up to you today and you said, “I hear from God,” I wish that all rabbi’s heard from God, then the whole world would be Jewish, and believe in Jesus.
