Sid: I’ve got a young man in the studio that’s red hot for Jesus his name is Curry Blake. Curry was given the notes of John G. Lake and it’s interesting Curry your last names Blake and were talking about Lake. Had you ever noticed the two rhymed Blake and Lake?
Curry: Especially when I went to Africa and the ticket that they ticketed me with had Curry Lake on it it was printed that way.
Sid: I think God was just showing you something. For those that are just tuning in for the first time Curry got a hold of the notes of the training manual of John G. Lake had for his healing technicians. This was in the 1920’s in Spokane, Washington where John G. Lake had over 100,000 documented miracles. Spokane, Washington was known as the healthiest city in the United States literally with you told me a hospital closed down.
Curry: Right. Deaconess Hospital actually shut down for a period of time as far as I could determine from the notes and everything we have received.
Sid: Now from you studying these notes you prayed for the sick before you studied these notes.
Curry: Yes Sir.
Sid: Has it made a major difference in the way that the approach things and the results that you get?
Curry: Totally totally different the approach is different the attitude going…when we go into it even the attitude is different.
Sid: You’re attitude before having studied this was what would you call it classic what is known as a word of faith type teaching.
Curry: Yes Sir.
Sid: Which was the best we had but this is a step further Mishpochah.
Curry: Right.
Sid: Now on yesterday’s broadcast Curry you told me that your second daughter died what happened to her?
Curry: She fell from a second story window fell face first onto concrete her nose was smashed into her face, her teeth back into her gums. She was dead when I go to her I picked her up walked around the patio and over about a period of 30 minutes I’m saying “In the name of Jesus you will live and not die,” and getting very loud because I had to get over the voices in my head that were saying “You’re losing another one.” I…
Sid: Because he had lost his first daughter who had died and now his second daughter had died, but go ahead.
Curry: So we set her down in the kitchen floor and after a period of about 30 minutes total she came back to life her eyes began to focus and she espoused…I’m sorry expelled blood when she breathed outward and her spirit came back to her body and she was made alive again. We then took her to the hospital where they verified that she had been dead…
Sid: How could they verify she had been dead they weren’t dead they weren’t there?
Curry: Well they can take tests and run brain wave tests and apparently when someone dies the brain waves shut down and as they come back the brain waves return to normal a normal pattern of rhythm. And so they can tell if someone has been clinically dead or…and how long and as a matter of fact they were the ones that told us it was approximately 30 minutes. Which when we sat down and figured it out they were right.
Sid: Okay she had lots of broken bones and even though she was back alive her body was still broken.
Curry: Right.
Sid: What happened in that instance?
Curry: Both of her wrists were broke where she tried to break her fall from the window. Her right knee was broken they put her in a body cast they told us to keep her off of her feet that it would take so much time for her to heal naturally. We ended up going to a tent revival in Longview, Texas and while we were there she wanted to be prayed for by the man that was ministering so I pushed her up front the man prayed for her. Didn’t sense anything, didn’t see anything and no great revelation and that night when we were going to bed she started…she walked past our door and we yelled and asked is that her? And she said “Yeah that was me so we asked her and she said “She’d been healed and so we ended up pulling the cast off and she was well.
Sid: You…now that’s kind of a risky thing but she came back from the dead and so…
Curry: Right.
Sid: When you took that cast off you knew that she was healed?
Curry: Yes Sir, yes Sir there was no doubt I also I wouldn’t want people to travel the same path that I’ve traveled the same path that I’ve traveled because we’ve done what I’d considered some risky things but they were there were no choice in them. They were things that had to be done and now that I’ve gone through them I’d pray that other people would not have to and we can continue the information that we gleaned from it so that nobody had to go through those things.
Sid: Now how did you get the manual literally that John G. Lake used to train his… this is the wonderful thing about John G. Lake Mishpochah. It wasn’t that he was the great man of God that prayed for the sick because he was able to transfer the anointing that he had to other people by teaching them what the Holy Spirit had taught him. How did you come into possession of this?
Curry: Well Dr. Lake went from Spokane to Texas to Houston, Texas in ’24 and then again in ’27. And while he was there he took a Divine Healing Technician a Mr. Jeeters from Spokane and his family. They were going to open a church there which Lake did well they had a manual that Dr. Lake had written in 1918 for the divine Healing Technician Mr. Jeeters had taken it with him. During the time they started the church started the training. The church never really took off like they wanted matter of fact they had a lot of opposition and Gordon Lindsey later after kind of pastored that church for a very short time before he went on to Dallas. He also the… Jeeters had this material with him Mr. Jeeters who was the Divine Healing Technician under Lake passed away his son had it and whenever his son passed away his wife had it. And then in ’97 actually early ’97 Mr. Jeeters, Jr. his wife passed away she was in a nursing home and she had left it for us. We were down in Alvin, Texas in ’95 we made contact with her and she had made provision for us to receive this manual whenever she passed away. And so that late ’97 I finally got my hands on it and started studying it and to be honest with you started just experimenting with it and trying it out.
Sid: What difference, what differences are you seeing in results from before what did you see before you read the manual and started doing what it said what did you see in your ministry and what do you see now?
Curry: The best explanation that I can see is the different manifestation of power manifest. Before everything I did I did by faith which obviously is involved in everything. But unfortunately in a lot of word of faith teachings we settle for faith and we don’t have the power to bring in the manifestation that’s the difference. Now the power to manifest the healing which comes from I know what the bottom line is that it comes from the acceptance of responsibility because now we have authority. And there is no such thing as authority without responsibility. So once we started accepting responsibility for the people we pray for then we have the authority to bring in and manifest the healing itself.
Sid: Well when someone’s prayed for and they’re not healed many people say “You just didn’t have enough faith.” What would you or John G. Lake have said to that?
Curry: Well exactly what you’re referring to is the person that’s being prayed for doesn’t have enough faith.
Sid: Right.
Curry: That’s a common teaching its totally false in the sense that Jesus never did that He always put…
Sid: Whoa whoa wait, over and over Jesus says in the gospel “Your faith has made you whole.”
Curry: True.
Sid: So He did say it was faith that healed them.
Curry: But he said that it was their faith that made them whole which brought them to Him and they asked for healing when they came to Him.
Sid: And so coming to Him was the faith.
Curry: Was the faith because they knew that they could get to Him. The woman with the issue of blood said “I knew if I could touch the hem of His garment she got healed and He didn’t even know about it. He knew that something had happened but it wasn’t a matter of Him knowing who was healed and how. So specifically dealing with failures that’s where he turned… the only times that He ever upgraded anyone or scolded someone is when His own disciples failed to manifest the healing of the people that they were ministering to. He never got on to the people that came for healing He always put it on the Christian or on the believer to manifest and when they failed He turned around and said “Oh you of little faith” or actually called them a “Perverse generation” because they didn’t believe.
Sid: Now tell me again the results he had in Spokane, Washington.
Curry: Okay he had over 100,000 confirmed healings and there were more than that, but those are the ones confirmed. There is… he had literally every type of sickness, every sickness every type of sickness that was brought to him as known to man was brought to Him in his healing buildings in the Rockery Building in his church or his church service at the Masonic Temple which actually had a service at the Masonic temple which blows away some peoples theories that if you’re in an area that is not necessarily a Godly atmosphere that you can’t do anything. As matter of fact talk about Jesus of Nazareth that’s another fallacy that people have built up we have so much speculation built up and there are so many excuses why people can’t get healed it’s a miracle anybody does get healed…Not that…
Sid: Well it said that Jesus could do so few miracles in that particular place.
Curry: Right and the reason He could do few is because technically we read that to say because of their unbelief in other words He tried but He couldn’t. But that’s not what it says “He could do no mighty works here accept He laid His hands on a few sick folk and he healed them. So he was able to do some things. The reason that He couldn’t do mighty miracles is because the people that needed the most miracles didn’t come to Him. Now you see you could say “Well you’re speculating too.” Yeah that’s true and my speculation is in line with the word of God and where as that Jesus could not is not in the word of God where as the speculation that Jesus could not is not in line with the word of God because Jesus never failed anywhere.
Sid: What results did his students achieve?
Curry: Well Lake had a particular manner that whenever someone would call for healing they would either come down to the healing rooms or he would send his technicians out to minister to them. And when they went out to them he would give them an assignment and say “Here’s the call here’s the sickness and the problem go and minister to them until there well don’t come back until they’re well.”
Sid: Don’t come back until their well?
Curry: Don’t come back until their well.
Sid: And so if the person wasn’t healed they were out of the praying business.
Curry: Pretty much.
Sid: With them any way.
Curry: Yeah it was you know…
Sid: That’s pretty bold.
Curry: Yes it is well…
Sid: What results did they have? Did they have the same results as him?
Curry: They all came back they all came back.
Sid: Did you get that Mishpochah? I mean how would you like to be able to have sat under that kind of teaching and have been able to go a stranger’s house that was sick and told “You can’t come back to my school unless that person was healed” and you heard what Curry Blake said “They all came back.” I mean in the early 1900’s John G. Lake had over 100,000 verified healing miracles in Spokane, Washington.
