LARRY: This is Larry Sparks with another exciting episode of “Something More!” I believe in the season that we’re stepping into right now God wants you to believe and to contend for total, complete and full healing. That’s what I sense in my spirit! Those three words: Total! Complete! And full! And I believe so many people actually stop short of a breakthrough because either they prayed, nothing happened or they did this or they did that and they didn’t see immediate results. But my guest today, Dr. Sandra Kennedy, I believe is going to give you a Bible blueprint on how you can not only believe for your healing but persevere until you actually receive the manifestation of your healing breakthrough! So Dr. Kennedy, such a joy to have you on the show today!
SANDRA: Thank you! Thank you for letting me come!
LARRY: I have a feeling this is going to be fun!
SANDRA: Yeah! Oh yeah.
LARRY: Let’s get ready.
SANDRA: Yeah.
LARRY: My first question is this because here we are
talking about healing and breakthrough and a lot of this is common language in
certain movements in the church.
SANDRA: Right. Right.
LARRY: But there are so many people who don’t even
know that it’s God’s will for them to be healed!
SANDRA: Yeah! They don’t even know it exists. Yeah.
LARRY: Well so let me ask you this. So like can you
for the person watching and as we have a conversation…
SANDRA: Right.
LARRY: Who’s asking God, is it your will that I am
healed and whole what would you say? How do you settle that issue?
SANDRA: Well I say yes!
LARRY: Yeah, yeah.
SANDRA: Yeah. Well you have to understand that most
people what trips people up is they’re ignorant of the Word of God. They don’t
know what the Word of God says so they just pick up what somebody says about
the Word of God. And of course the most important thing about healing is the
integrity of the Word of God. What you think about what God says which means
you got to know what the Bible says.
LARRY: Wow. Wow.
SANDRA: You got to get in it and know it and the
Bible says and there’s not a single place in it where God turned down anybody
for healing!
LARRY: Yeah.
SANDRA: It’s not anyplace in there. But it’s
sometimes religion teaches that but the Bible does not teach that. I grew up in
a particular denomination that taught that signs and wonders had passed away.
When I graduated from the seminary they taught me that. That signs and wonder
had passed away! Well that’s not true!
LARRY: Hmm! Yeah.
SANDRA: Which we serve an unchangeable God!
LARRY: Yes! Yes!
SANDRA: He hasn’t changed at all! If He healed
yesterday He heals today!
LARRY: Yes.
SANDRA: But the point is is that we have got to
understand that He is the healer and we have to go to His Word. Find out what
He says. Believe His Word and then fall in love with Him so we can trust Him!
LARRY: Well Dr. Kennedy, one of the things you said
that was so interesting, because I’ve heard that before, and I think that’s
actually the best way to explain it to somebody is on the basis of the Word of
God!
SANDRA: That’s it!
LARRY: That is what we go to as far as the basis for
healing but you said “it’s what you think…
SANDRA: Right.
LARRY:
…about the Word of God.
SANDRA: Right.
LARRY: Because so many people, I mean the number 1
best seller in the world is the Bible!
SANDRA: Yes.
LARRY: So many Christians have access to the same
Book that you and I do.
SANDRA: Right.
LARRY: But we can all be reading the same thing any
maybe have a different perspective on it.
SANDRA: Um-huh. Right.
LARRY: But again you made a good point. For people
to believe signs and wonders have passed away I believe that’s being
disingenuous to the Bible!
SANDRA: Oh, absolutely!
LARRY: I’m not trying to condemn anybody but it’s
like what would you say, how would you say you need to actually retrain the way
you think, train the way you think when it comes to reading the Word?
SANDRA: Well you know the Bible says to renew your
mind.
LARRY: Yes.
SANDRA: So you have to renew your mind! Very simply
put that means quit thinking the way you think and think the way God thinks!
LARRY: That’s so good!
SANDRA: I mean you know I like things simple!
LARRY: Yes!
SANDRA: God, this is how God thinks. The Bible is how
God thinks. You don’t have to ask anybody what does God think. He tells you
what He thinks. And you can get any kind of little version, you know, that
pretty much sticks with the Word and find out what He says about it and then
you make up your mind. Let’s give an example.
LARRY: Yeah.
SANDRA: Okay. Let’s say I have a bad report. I got a
bad report. You’re going to die the day after tomorrow. You got a really bad
report and I find in this Book where He says that by His stripes I’m
healed.
LARRY: Yes.
SANDRA: Now that’s a total contradiction to you’re about
to die day after tomorrow.
LARRY: Yeah. Yup.
SANDRA: So I’m going to have to decide is this for me
or am I going to have to believe this report over here!
LARRY: Yeah. Yeah.
SANDRA: What am I going to do? Am I going to believe
what God says “by My stripes you are healed. I sent my Word and healed
you. I took your infirmities and bare your sicknesses.” That’s what He said He did! Now did He really
mean that? We’re talking about the integrity of God’s Word! Did He mean it?
LARRY: So good.
SANDRA: So you start off with it hitting in your
head. It hits your head. Well I don’t know what I think about that. I don’t
know what I think about that. But it’s got to get from the head to the heart.
LARRY: Umm!
