SID: Hello Sid Roth here your mentor of the supernatural. It’s unbelievable; you had 12 illnesses that you were given up on medically is that correct?
RON: Yes.
SID: Let me take you back – you’re a young kid, you’re in a wheelchair. Why were you in a wheelchair?
RON: I had bone cancer and polio.
SID: You had bone cancer, was it throughout your whole body?
RON: Throughout the body.
SID: You told me were your hands, sometimes I see people with polio where they are…
RON: They were drawn like this.
SID: Could you get out of the wheelchair and walk around?
RON: No.
SID: What was the prognosis? Would you ever get better?
RON: No; they said I’d never be well.
SID: What about the cancer?
RON: I would never be well.
SID: Would you die from it?
RON: Sure.
SID: You were in a pretty desperate state. So tell me about this meeting you went to. How did you get there? In a wheelchair; it’s not so easy.
RON: Well this couple took me to this crusade and the first service I saw a lot of things happen. And of course, I was afraid because I’ve never seen anything like this. I mean they were praising God and a lot of singing and carrying; and so they gave an altar call and asked people to come and respond and come to Jesus Christ. Well, I’d never heard of that before.
SID: Where were you? What country were you from? What do you mean you never heard of that before?
RON: Well I’d never heard of the way the Protestant deal with asking people to come to accept Jesus Christ.
SID: What was your religious background?
RON: Catholic.
SID: Ok, so you hear this; you’re mystified, you’re seeing everything that’s going on all around; you’re in your wheelchair; what happened next?
RON: Well I wanted to go, he gave the altar call and I wanted to respond; even though I didn’t understand because I saw many, many people going so I wanted to go, but I didn’t understand. And then it was like the devil said to me, “You can’t go. Look you, you cannot walk” and the next thing I knew I was in front of the altar standing – no chair, no chair.
SID: Where was your chair?
RON: It was where it was to start with where I was sitting.
SID: I don’t understand; you’re in your chair, you’re wondering, you want to go forward; and then the next thing you know you’re there without a chair – standing.
RON: It was supernatural.
SID: You can’t do that!
RON: I was doing it.
SID: How could you do it?
RON: Supernatural by the power of God!
SID: Ok so you’re standing there…
RON: I’m standing there, and I’m shaking; I’m very weak from the cancer, from the sickness, period. The man says to kneel and he was saying what to say in the prayer; ask Jesus to forgive you and come into your heart. Well people we’re kneeling and I’d never been able to kneel but I felt.
SID: You couldn’t even walk let alone kneel.
RON: No, but I felt the presence of the Lord come on me. And so I got in a position that I had never been…
SID: Explain this to me. What do you mean by the presence of the Lord coming on you?
RON: It was just unexplainable. The Glory of God…. It was just…I couldn’t explain it.
SID: So you got on your knees which you could not do, but you did.
RON: I got in a position I’d never been in and so I prayed the prayer like I’d been taught in church to pray; and I don’t know why I expected something to happen this particular time but I did; but nothing happened. So I heard a little old lady praying, and she prayed so simple. She prayed, “Jesus come into my heart and forgive me for all of my sins; and then she just threw her hands up like this and started rejoicing! And I thought well, I’ve never prayed this prayer before, but I’m going to try it. So I did the sign of the cross, and I said, “Jesus come into my heart and forgive me for all of my sins.” And when I prayed that prayer it felt like a world of weight had come up off of me.
SID: That’s such a simple little prayer, just from that simple little,
RON: Yeah…I felt so, so light I thought I was going to float away. And then I felt more presence of the Lord, and then God just…his presence was so real that he just took me into his Spirit.
SID: What did you do with your wheelchair?
RON: That’s asked of me so many times, it was left there – I didn’t need it!
SID: How old were you?
RON: 16.
SID: You left your wheelchair there; what did you do with your cancer?
RON: God just completely restored my body,
SID: Did anyone lay hands on you or pray for you?
RON: No, nobody laid hands on me.
SID: You just felt a presence of God when you said that prayer…
RON: When I prayed that prayer I was healed instantly.
SID: Now when you went home, your family thought you were, we have a Hebrew word – mashuga. That means nuts – and they actually committed you to a mental institution.
RON: Yes.
SID: But didn’t they realize my son is crippled my son is dying of cancer. Didn’t they realize that this was a genuine miracle?
RON: It was the enemy that just kept them from believing and seeing.
SID: What did they say about you in the mental institution?
RON: Well they, it was the day my mother came to finish the paperwork. And I was standing in front of the doctor and my mother, and tears were running down my face and I said, “Jesus I’m so scared.” And I said “I don’t understand why I’m in this place when you told me to go and tell what you had done for me.” And I said, “I don’t understand,” and I felt the presence of the Lord so real and I began to speak in language after language which was four languages…
SID: Did you in the natural speak any of these languages?
RON: No, no and the medical examiner pushed his chair back and he said to my mother, “My God woman, here is a child 16 years old, in a little 80 pound frame body and he speaks four languages and he speaks them fluently.” He said, “I went to college; I majored in languages” and he said “these are the four languages that I studied in college.” “Don’t tell me the child is crazy.” So he took the papers from my mother and he just tore them up and threw them in the waste can.
SID: You would think things would get better, but actually they got worse his family didn’t understand him; and so even though they said he was a genius and released him from the mental institution; he wasn’t a genius he just spoke in what the Bible calls “unknown languages.” And he was on his own, no money, no clothes beyond what he was wearing, no hope, 16 years old. You’ll be amazed at what happened to him. We’ll be back right after this word.
